There have been a number of enquiries regarding the playing status of Golf Club Banora. I have attached a statement from the CEO to clarify this matter.
Thanks to Rodger and his staff, who are keeping the course in playing condition, so that when the time is right, we will be straight back into it.
In the mean time stay safe and healthy.
Brent McLennan (President)
Despite conflicting and changing advice regards the legality of playing golf and other sports during the current COVID-19 pandemic the closure of facilities remains in place, specifically to golf.
Twin Towns remains unable to ensure that the course and all associated facilities are sanitised to an acceptable standard following the stand down of all related employees who support these functions.
Twin Towns is unable to adequately ensure social distancing requirements are adhered to by anyone participating in sports, including golf, despite the relevant directives being issued. The Club is potentially liable for any breaches.
The Island, including the Island House, pro shop and outdoor areas, are all part of the licensed premises of the Registered Club which are closed by order of the Health Department.
As such it is not intended to reopen the course until this event has resolved and the safety of our members, contractors and staff can be assured.
