Congratulations to Mike Grills for his albatross at the 18th today. Mike hit an excellent drive which placed him on the downward slope of the fairway mound with a look at the pin.
From 155 m out Mike put a terrific swing on his 6 iron. The ball disappeared over the green front lip and those in his playing group knew the shot was good. Once the green was reached there was no sign of the ball. Initial despair changed to euphoria when the ball was found in the hole. Sensational Mike.

Great Christmas present as a golfer!
Please note that there will be no Vet’s Competitions on Monday 26th December 2016 and the 2nd January 2017.
Have a very Merry Xmas and a Good Golfing in 2017.
Members attending our whole of club Christmas function agreed that it was a very enjoyable night, made so by the wonderful food and service along with the great atmosphere of the Island House venue. Thank you again to Executive Chef Kim Chilcott and his team for the great food. The work of all the helpers who decorated the room is much appreciated and thank you to Don Culpitt for his background music on the night.
Thanks for the great support by Twin Towns with Chair – Mike Fraser, Deputy Chair – Brian Brown and Club General Manager, Rob Smith who joined with golfers to share the Christmas spirit.
Golf Club major sponsor, North Estate was also well represented with Sandra Beveridge and Sue Charles renewing friendships with members. Thank you for contributing to the raffle prizes and for assisting with the weekly North lucky door prize draw.
The prize pool for the raffles was very significant and also contained donations from Twin Towns, Ladies Sub Committee and President Ken.
Thank you to all for support of our raffles as they play a large part in allowing the Golf Committee to offer competition fee free days and functions.
The over $10,000 one-off grants that Twin Towns provides to the Golf Club in the context of internal club support also directly contributes to the quality golf membership benefits. Thanks.
Also, the gift package provided to everyone at the function by Sandra was much appreciated.

Some members were asking about where at Twin Towns they can get the food we had at the Christmas Party.
Executive Chef, Kim Chilcott mentioned that the Durban curry selected for the Men’s function is available from time to time at 1st on Wharf . As explained the curry comes in a large bun shell with carrot salad.
The steak that members enjoyed from the BBQ is also available there. Meals are priced at $17 and includes a beer, house wine or soft drink.
Signatures in the Mantra building is always the home of good food.
Daylight saving makes the early bird special by 6.30pm (QLD Time) attractive timewise especially if you work on NSW time and compares favourable for price and quality with all other local venues.
Menus follow for those interested.
Group Marketing Manager, Paul Prout said he will keep the Golf Club updated with food offer details. He also suggests that golfers consider the new members lunch time Flame special. The menu is set and contains favourites such as corned silverside, bangers and mash, beer battered fish and chips as well as the Chef’s meal of the day for $9.95
