Handicapping Policy Club Banora Golf Club 2016.
THIS POLICY IS EFFECTIVE AS AT 01/12/2016
This policy defines Handicapping procedures at Club Banora Golf Club in
compliance with Golf Australia’s Handicap System.
The Match Committee of Club Banora has endorsed the following Principles in
relation to Handicapping to Protect the Integrity of the Golf Australia
The GA Handicap System is based on the assumption that:
. Each Player will endeavour to make the best score they can make on each
hole in every round they play.
. Players who fail to meet this requirement are effectively operating
outside the System and at the discretion of the club’s Match Committee
Authority may have their Handicap re-assessed or withdrawn.
Individual hole by hole scores on Non Handicapped events, can and may be
utilised for the purpose of Handicap reduction.
The following games will be handicapped at Club Banora
All Single Events.
All other events will be handicapped at the direction of The Sub Section Captains/Match Committee.
In the event a temporary course becomes necessary , the Sub Section Captains
will liaise with Golf Australia Golflink to establish temporary ACR, and
Club Banora Match Committee
Men’s Captain (Chair)
COULD ALL MEMBERS PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT WHEN PLACING ENTRIES IN ENVELOPES FOR XMAS PARTIES, THAT THEY SPECIFY WHICH EVENT IT’S FOR EG VETERAN’S, MEN’S, MIXED AND LADIES AND PROVIDE CORRECT NAMES OF PEOPLE WHO ARE PARTICIPATING. LADIES ENTRIES ARE TO BE PLACED IN THE BLUE TIN AND ALL OTHERS IN THE RED TIN. THIS WILL MAKE THE CAPTAINS AND TREASURER’S JOB A LOT EASIER.
As per page 8 of the fixture book the competition of the day was suspended late afternoon due to the potential danger to the players remaining on the course.
Unfortunately the competition was completely abandoned when play could not resume due to the course becoming unplayable.
Subsequently contacted NSW GOLF who supported our decision 100%.
In addition have given a credit for the comp fees – redeemable for 7 days.
Although it may appear unfair for the morning players it is equally unfair to the later players who could not finish.
The draw for teams for the Reverse Ambrose is now available on the Club Banora Web Site.
If you are unable to attend please advise Denise as soon as possible to rework the draw.
Ladies Special Events presentations still on in Island House at 1.00pm
Sunday Golf remains strong at Club Banora.
Day sponsors Alan and Lyn Simpson said at Presentation that they very much enjoyed Sundays and are impressed with the member sponsorship format used by the Club. They were keen to contribute.
Special thank you to Alan and Lyn for the extensive prize pool that provided quality winner prizes and allowed a long rundown winners list. Much appreciated.
The outstanding round of the day was recorded by Judy Mount (centre right) shown below with sponsors Alan (far left) and Lyn (far right) along with Vice President, Rosie Connolly (centre right). Judy carded a sensational 45 Points in the single Stableford competition. Her round started modestly but caught fire at the 3rd Hole which was the first of a string of 3 Pointers that provided her with 21 Points for the first nine. Her back nine was even better and included two 4 Pointers in the last three holes. Terrific play Judy, congratulations on your win.
Marilyn Brown also played very well to take home the Ladies Runner Up prize with 42 Points. Marilyn played solid golf on the outward nine but was excellent on the back nine with 24 Points. Marilyn made great swings at the Par 3 Holes and dominated the Nearest the Pins. At the 16th Hole Marilyn scored Birdie and added 4 Points to her score. Well done Marilyn on your very good round. Marilyn is pictured below, mike in hand, responding at Presentation and flanked by Alan, Rosie and Lyn.
The Men’s win went to Wayne Muir (mike in hand below) who continued his good Saturday form and took home a second winner’s prize on back-to-back days. Wayne had 4 Pars on the front nine and Birdie at the 12th Hole but it was his 5 Pars over the closing Holes that secured his win over Runner Up and playing partner Kevin Haddrick on count back. Congratulations on your win Wayne and your current ‘hot’ form. Nice back nine!
Well done to Kevin who also has been playing well. Kevin scored a matching 40 Points that included 5 Pars on the first nine and a Birdie and 3 Pars on the back nine. Good 4 Pointer to finish your round!
Men’s Nearest the Pins went to Keith Cooper at 3rd (far right below), sponsor Alan at 16th and Danny Minogue at 7th (far right below). John Harrington won NTP at the 2nd Hole. Congratulations to the NTP winners.
Two Ladies Nearest the Pins went to the strong play of Marilyn (3rd & 16th). Ladies Captain, Denise Culpitt (far right below) won NTP at the 7th Hole. Far left below, Dale Park accepted NTP at the 2nd Hole for daughter, Tara who due to other commitments could not stay for Presentation. Tara is a fine golfer and narrowly missed Eagle at the 11th and 18th Holes. She also drove through the Par 4 12th Hole! Dale, thanks for inviting Tara along. Hope to see her name on the tee roster again soon. Well done Ladies NTP winners.
