Today’s sponsors, Ken & Denise Culpitt and Don & Denise Culpitt appreciate the good support and positive feedback for today’s Texas Stableford, best three scores to count. Members enjoyed the ‘everyone-can-contribute’ competition and had a fun day. The fun continued at the 19th Hole as the large field waited for the presentation.
Some outstanding scores were recorded in the often very windy conditions.
The first team out was Wayne Muir & Galemaree Dawes and Kevin & Janet Haddrick. They set a high standard for the rest of the field to chase including good nearest the pin shots. Their score topped the leader board until the last group entered their team card.
Congratulations to Winners, Roy & Bev Culpitt and Warren & Ruth Williams for their huge 156 points – 78 points each nine. Ruth and Bev gave the team long drives from the downwind Ladies tees. Warren also drove the ball well. 88 years old Roy came into his own with the long starts and was able to contribute 50 points to the team card with his good short game and excellent putting on the recently cored greens. The large winning score included 12 Holes with nine points or more showing the significant contribution that each player brought to the score. Great day out guys, congratulations on your win. Below Bev (front left), Roy (centre left), Ruth (centre right) and Warren (front right) relive their round prior to Presentation.
The Runners Up, Janet (far left), Kevin (centre left), Galemaree (centre right) and Wayne (far right) also played great golf. Kevin played some of his best ever golf on the first nine being one under Par of the stick after seven holes and one over for the Nine. Kevin was on the Nearest-The-Pin card at the 3rd and 7th Hole. He went on to win the NTP at the 3rd and added wine and balls to his Runner up prize. The team finished with 153 Points. Galemaree helped the team with a good drive from the forward Ladies tees and Wayne and Kevin were always there with good starts from most tees. Janet made her contribution from the handy starts, adding 3 and 4 Pointers to the team card. The team worked well together, each member contributed six or more three pointers to the team card. Well done on your excellent play.
Penny Martlew hit a terrific shot to win the pin on the 2nd Hole and Peter Edwards played the pin shot of the day to the 16th Hole to be within a few centimetres. Nice swing Peter.
The NTP at the 7th Hole went to sponsor Denise F Culpitt with a shot to within 3 meters. Thanks for donating your wine prize to add to the raffle draw.
