Tuesday December 30th
Golf Course CLOSED
The following briefing is provided to the Golf Committee.
The golf course received over 10 inches of rain and is holding considerable water. During the event one of the main pumps failed and is unable to be repaired until the electrical wholesalers reopen. One pump is working, on the east of the course, the main water build up is on the west. Given the long dry this is not unwelcome.
Combining these factors and the continuing light rain it is unlikely the course will reopen until late this week, best guess is Friday.
Good soaking water remains on the golf course. The following photo shows water on the right side of 1st fairway / right side of 9th fairway.
Also water covers the centre and left side of the 8th fairway to the out of bounds fence. Water is also lying other fairways.
Light rain continues to fall intermittently.
I’m sure all members hope the current rain provides a great base for course condition in 2015.
Consultation between the Club Professional, Barry Horton and the head greenkeeper Rodger Scott has resulted in a decision to close the course on 29 December.
After considerable rain overnight and again today, substantial water remains on the golf course. Further rain is approaching the course at the time of this post.
Today golf at Club Banora is not possible due to the amount of water on the course and heavy rain continues to fall.
This is first time play is not possible due to rain since the last significant rain in mid-November 2013.
