Please enjoy the Men’s Christmas function day.
On 23 November the Club Banora Gentlemen’s 3 Putt Club held its AGM and Club annual function.
Club Banora has two three putt clubs that bring a little extra to golf at Club Banora. They provide an incentive for members to improve their putting and also a type of match play were each club member compares their daily score against each other club member.
Three putt clubs are a feature of many golf clubs and the first Club Banora three putt club was created when the Club Banora Golf was established 30 years ago.
The Gentlemen’s 3 Putt Club also offers members trips away and sponsors hams as prizes for a competition Saturday in mid-December. It is managed by Neil Hourigan who has taken over the administrative helm from foundation member, Ray Holmes who passed away earlier this year. Long term patron and major sponsor, Graham Church continues to support the club.
The Gentlemen’s 3 Putt Club runs for 44 weeks of competition in 2015 and is open to Club Banora members who wish to participate in this extra level of competition and fun.
Members interested in being part of the Gentlemen’s 3 Putt Club in 2015 should speak to Neil, say at any time before Saturday presentations.
AGM action follows.
The Greens Team has moved quickly to commence using the quality soil recently transported to the Golf Course.
Work is underway on tidying up the area between the 8th and 17th Tees. A picture of the early progress follows.
The soil is also being used around the trees below the 2nd / 11th Green, an area where tee shots from the 2nd, 11th, 8th and 17th tees often come to rest.
All members appreciate buggy drivers taking special care around the improvement areas.
The initial use hardly dents the about 1000 cubic meters of soil acquired!
The consolidating work on the greens described in the recent Newsletter #14 commenced late this morning.
Thank you to head greenkeeper, Rodger for some insight into golf course matters.
